Packing, cloths and other useful items

Space in the Vehicle/s is limited and we request that you pay particular attention to the following guidelines.

  1. we recommend that you utilize old or inexpensive luggage. Suit cases are not suitable.
  2. you may use a small/medium sized knapsack, provided that it has no frame. We advise you to pack light cloths for the day time and a jacket or sweater for the evenings, and a good pair of walking shoes even if you are going trekking – path ways around historic sites are usually uneven and stony. Trekkers in Siemen and Bale mountains will need warm clothes, water proofs and 3- 4 season bags. On a cultural note- Ethiopians are generally modest dressers, and visitors should be sensitive about going undressed into places of worship. Shoes must always be removed before entering churches and mosques.
  3. we advise to bring with you everything that you need which you may not get readily when you need it; you can also get most genuine necessities from Ethiopia.
